LIVER FOUNDATION TRUST
As per the data, Pakistan is at No.1 in the world having Hepatitis carrier patients. As per our camps and OPD patient’s record, almost every 4th person is a carrier of Hepatitis B or C virus.
HISTORY
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Liver Foundation Trust (LFT), Faisalabad was established in 2003 under the Chairmanship of Prof.Dr.Zahid Yasin Hashmi (Ex-Principal, Punjab Medical College & Allied Institutions). The Chairman moved an idea to provide a platform under which the poor and needy people be provided treatment of Hepatitis B & C to the deserving people free of cost. This idea was discussed among the philanthropists and well known industrialists of Faisalabad.
- Initially, Liver Foundation Trust signed an MOU with District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) and established a state of art Liver Centre consisting of 50 Bed hospital with 24/7 Emergency, ICU, General Ward facilities.
- After the expiry of MOU with DHQ, Liver Foundation Trust purchased its own 144 Marla of land in Madina Garden, Satiana Road, Faisalabad with a semi constructed building. This building was converted into Faisalabad Medical Centre (FMC).
- At FMC, average 350 people visit our OPD daily for screening and consultation of our Doctors.
- Our Endoscopy Unit conducts 15-20 procedures daily including OPD
- We have also a Fibroscan machine for advance check up liver function which was purchased with a cost of Rs.12 million. Daily 15-20 tests are performed on this machine.
- We have 2-Ultrasound/Doppler Units which conducts 70-80 tests daily.

- A state of art Laboratory has also been established which performs average 400-450 tests of various kind.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Government of Pakistan has recognized our Trust as a Non Profit Organization and issued certificates in this respect.
Moreover, Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) has also certified us as charitable organization which conducts our audit for Internal Governance, Financial Management and Program Delivery after every 3 years to ascertain our activities and achievements in respective area.
